Weekly Stone--006--Where the pathes meet
Date£º2008-11-11

The red jasper, yellow jasper and green japer stones are classified as Gobi stones. They possess bright colors and a high rigidity. The shapes of them, however, are usually lumps or like planks, which make it hard to appreciate the stones with Chinese stones aesthetics.

This stone, however, is an exception. It has a very graceful shape and looks just like a gate of traditional Chinese Siheyuan (quad). If you open your mind as widely as possible, the ¡°gate¡± will bring you into the presence of a human being unlike any other.

As a ancient Chinese poet has written: ¡°Where the hills and streams end and there seems no road beyond, Amidst shading willows and blooming flowers another village appears.(usu. said when one begins to see hope when all seems lost)¡± What a great artistic conception!
